Face-to-Face Course
Our First Aid for Schools course is specifically designed for staff working in primary, secondary, and special educational settings. This practical, engaging course equips school staff with the essential skills and confidence to respond to the most common first aid incidents involving children and young people. Delivered facetoface by experienced trainers, the course focuses on reallife scenarios that school staff encounter daily, ensuring learners feel prepared to act quickly and effectively in an emergency.

Anyone responsible for the care and supervision of children in an educational setting
Course Content
This course covers the most relevant first aid topics for school environments, including:
Roles and responsibilities of a responder in a school setting
Assessing an incident and conducting a primary survey
CPR and safe use of an AED
Managing an unresponsive casualty
Choking
Asthma and breathing difficulties, allergic reactions and anaphylaxis (including autoinjectors)
Seizures and febrile convulsions
Head injuries and playground accidents
Wounds, bleeding, and minor injuries
Burns and scalds
Breaks, sprains, and soft tissue injuries
Common childhood illnesses
Assessment & Certification
Learners are assessed through continuous observation and practical
demonstrations. Successful participants will receive a First Aid for Schools certificate, valid for three years.
Duration
Approximately 6 hours, depending on group size and school requirements.
