This comprehensive course has been created to give you the knowledge to help a baby, child or adult with both minor and major first aid incidents as well as giving advice on how to manage a range of common illnesses and conditions.


Course content

· Assessing an emergency situation and prioritise what action to take

· Understanding the importance of PPE and Infection Control

· Helping a baby, child or adult who is unresponsive and breathing normally

· Helping a baby, child or adult who is unresponsive and not breathing normally

· Helping a baby, child or adult who is having a seizure or febrile convulsion

· Helping a baby, child or adult who is choking

· Helping a baby, child or adult who is suffering a heart attack, angina attack or stroke

· Helping a baby, child or adult who is bleeding

· Helping a baby, child or adult who is suffering from shock

· Helping a baby, child or adult who is suffering from anaphylactic shock

· Helping a baby, child or adult who has burns or scalds

· Helping a baby, child or adult who has a suspected fracture

· Helping a baby, child or adult who has a head injury

· Helping a baby, child or adult with a foreign body in eyes, ears or nose

· Helping a baby, child or adult with an eye injury

· Helping a baby, child or adult with a bite or sting

· Helping a baby, child or adult who suffering from poisoning

· Helping a baby, child or adult with a suspected asthma attack, allergic reaction, meningitis, sepsis, fever
