Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW)
Face-to-Face Course
The Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course is a nationally recognised, one-day qualification designed to equip learners with the essential skills and confidence to respond to a wide range of workplace emergencies. This course meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and is ideal for lowrisk environments or for those appointed as workplace first aiders.
Participants will learn how to assess incidents quickly and safely, provide immediate and effective first aid, and manage an emergency until professional help arrives. Training is delivered facetoface by experienced, knowledgeable instructors using practical, handson scenarios to build realworld confidence.

Anyone who wants essential first aid knowledge for work or everyday life
Course Content
Learners will cover the following key areas:
Roles and responsibilities of a First Aider
Assessing an incident and conducting a primary survey
CPR and safe use of an AED
Managing an unresponsive casualty (breathing and not breathing)
Choking
Seizures
Shock
Wounds, bleeding, and minor injuries
Burns and scalds
Assessment & Certification
Assessment is continuous throughout the day through practical demonstrations and participation. Successful learners will receive a Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work certificate, valid for three years.

1 day (typically 6 contact hours)
